Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars A superstar who managed to completely cross over from the country music scene to making her an iconic pop culture icon and conquering all over the world at the same time. Swift has thrown off her roots in the country as if it were a second-skin showing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter in her generation. She is able to tap into the current trend and make it her own. The first songs she released like the Neotribute to Tim McGraw were a testament to her talents. The second album Fearless of 2008 proved to be a songwriter finding her voice and a wider audience. Fearless was successful not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story and You Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. It also performed exceptionally well throughout the world. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago consolidated her previous success, and catapulted Swift into the spotlight. The next three years, her popularity increased with the release of three albums -three times - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) during which time she entered a new world of pop music in which her talent was already well established. As she cut her style by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, folklore and Evermore but she was still in the top spot. The position was defended by re-recordings from her past catalogue as well as Midnights which was her chart-topping synth heavy 2022 album.
