Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer and television host, as well as philanthropist as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and relocated to England at the age of sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Following her graduation, she was a well-known right-wing syndicated reporter. In the years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political scene. The fame she gained allowed her to persuade a number of famous people to share their opinions on current events, political and culture. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent in California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of the Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as one of as one of the "most powerful female" in media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011 after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. While she enjoyed a strong friendship with both of her parents, it was their bond that shaped her. She displayed leadership qualities even in her early years. At the age of 16years old, she emigrated from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the only president from outside the country. She graduated in 1972 with a degree in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she was a journalist and TV host. Also, she appeared on the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
