Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist and television host, as well as philanthropist as well as the owner and publisher of The Huffington Post. When she moved to England from Greece at the age of 16 She earned an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. At 21 she became president of the famed debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. As a conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she went on to become a voice of the Huffington Post. Her celebrity status helped her by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to stand for a non-partisan position during the California recall election in order to succeed the then governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her the most powerful woman in media in 2009. She ranked 12th on the ranking. The Guardian also included her on the list of 100 most influential media for 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media unit, which comprised of many at the time-current AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos who was a Journalism and management expert. They were very close to her father. But it was her bond with her mother who formed her. At a young age she showed the leadership abilities and is a household name. When she was 16 she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college and was the first woman to hold the position of the president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. After graduation, she began working as a critic for a newspaper column and a television host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
